I was looking online at the specs of the 3500's. It doesn't look like that truck in a crew cab comes with a short box... Does anyone know forsure?

I guess that would make sense, most of the gm/chev diesels that I see are 2500 hd's.

That gives FORD and DODGE a little bit of an advantage if you want a short box, crew cab, 1 ton.

no it does not come with a short box

Any reason why.... I thought they would have changed that in 08 if they didn't have it before...

YUP, GM MISSED THE BOAT ON THIS ONE:(.... JUST LOOK AROUND AND SEE HOW MANY FORD & DODGE 1TON MEGACAB/CREWCAB/QUADCAB SHORT BOXES ARE RUNNING AROUND.....WAY OUTNUMBER THE 3/4 TON FORD/DODGES........ WHY BUY A 3/4 TON, WHEN FOR BASICALLY THE SAME PRICE YOU CAN BUY A 1 TON AND BE LEGAL PULLING/CARRYING JUST ABOUT ANYTHING OUT THERE.

My thoughts exactly.... I started looking at what's out there... I defiantly want a 1 ton, but was leaning towards a short box, that takes GM out of the picture.

I just have one thing to say, "Why would you want a short box if you have a one ton?"

My one ton is a GMC long box and I can't tell you how many times I have went with someone and used there short box and just didn't have the room for everything. I have a 5th wheel and when i am loaded with my trailers i still have room up front for a ton of stuff. Also when I want to load a quad in the back there is room for other stuff as well. Having the long box just gives you so much more room for your toys. the more room you have the more toys you can have.

the extra room is a plus with the long box, and it makes sense with a 3500, but like Summitric said, take a look on the road. It doesn't make sense why they wouldn't offer it.
