HEY FOOTHILLS.... YOU USED TO BE YAMMMM FROM BLACKDIAMOND, RIGHT??... I BOUGHT THE 4PLACE TRAILER FROM YOU. I HAD A 7' SLED DECK WITH 1' BEAVER TAIL AND 8 FOOT RAMP ON MY '04 F350 DIESEL CREWCAB SHORTBOX AND HAVE AN '06 RT1000 SUMMIT 162" TRACK. IT HUNG OVER THE BACK A WAYS, BUT THE TRUCK HANDLED IT JUST FINE. I HAD THE SHORTBOX DECK AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. CAN SEND SOME PICS, OR CHECK Welcome to Sled Bunny Racing! AND I'M SURE THERE ARE SOME PICS ON THERE OF THE SET-UP..... ANYTHING ELSE, JUST LET US KNOW.

foothills m8, I was just at Marathon decks and they build a short box deck with a foot hanging over the back of the tail gate. I grew up in Longview, and did my Highschool in Black Diamond. We may know each other!

I have a shortbox '04 chev crewcab. My deck hangs out about 1 foot - never any problems even with those 162 summits hanging off it. I actually don't have a problem hauling 4 place enclosed trailer with the deck on the back, with two 151 sleds on it.

As long as you have a 3/4 or up, you are good weight wise. The only problem I have heard is when towing a trailer, the extra overhand can get in the way of the trailer. Not worth selling you truck over but something to think about for the next truck.
