It’s amazing the lack of decent stuff out there....diesel trucks and skid steers are good examples....was at finning the other day and ran into my sales guy...he wanted my skid steer in the worst way....they don’t have hardly any used equipment.... now he’s got me thinking about upgrading as the used equipment values are good......

My dad said the same thing the other day, they want his skid steer and offering stupid money for it, giving great trade ins toward new ones as they got nothing used to sell and tons of demand

Well sold my truck in under a day, 3rd truck in a row going to the states. Got more than I was guessing so I’ll take it.
Gonna be truckless until the spring and the market balances out (or so I think).
Honestly these exporters aren’t making it fair for us locals. Fella that bought it does 80 trucks per month minimum this fall, every decent truck is being bought up by him in southern Alberta.

It’s not just trucks.....Americans are taking advantage of the exchange rate and are snapping everything up....skidsteers at auctions are going high, as is a lot of other equipment. Any decent newer stuff is all moving south, and the older high hour stuff goes offshore. The really $hitty part of this is when things pick up there’s gonna be no decent used stuff around to re-equip with. Really sad to see the number of companies going under and selling everything off.

That’s a broad stroke ? I happen to watch RB and know a Auctioneer with them and it’s Surprising the amount of equipment that is staying in Alberta.
Sure some is going other places but the biggest percentage is staying .

According to RB they are! I cannot wait for the day someone decides they want to take their marketshare and absolutely destroys RB. They use to be good to deal with, but are an absolute joke now. Except for small items I won't even buy there anymore. If you buy a truck/equipment etc with a lien on it and seller/lienholder refuses to remove, you're screwed, RB policy in fine print is not their problem. I finally settled a huge go around with them over the exact thing.

Ive bought and sold lots at auctions over the years and have never dealt with RB. I prefer the smaller houses. Truth be told I don’t trust any of them, definitely deal with them with my head up. Had a relative inquire about his farm liquidation with RB. He wasn’t happy with the way they wanted to run it so went elsewhere.

They've got a real attitude problem the last few years. When I was looking to sell about $250k of equipment it was like they couldn't be bothered and I was wasting their time. When I bought my skid steer and another small item and just wanted to pay and pickup small item and said I was waiting on skid steer I may finance, they were pissed off and said "I don't think they will even bother financing that small amount" just a terrible attitude all around and it was a $30k purchase. When I started buying from them nearly 10 years ago they were great, I think they got big and forgot how important the little guys are, like so many others did, and I think in the coming years it's going to bite them in the a$$ big time. Brandt had the same lesson, too big to bother, and last year dropped by my yard admitting things are slow and they screwed up not treating the little guys right. Too little to late, I won't buy another piece of Deere equipment just because I refuse to be stuck dealing with them. Strongco has treated me incredibly well from day one, and am more inclined to buy Volvo strictly for that reason.

If I was purchasing anything with a title from any auction I would be searching and confirming with them in writing the lien will be discharged after payment.
