Considering purchasing a slide in style camper.
It would be used year round, parked days at a time, summer and winter, is there a brand that just stands out as vastly superior?
The girlfriends only request is a bathroom.
Would like keep it short, 8' if possible, because it would also be towing almost always, enclosed sled trailer, or boat in summer.

You need to consider weight and the truck that you are gonna use. Match the camper to the truck is the rule here. Also if your using it in the winter you need to understand that people create lots of humidity so you will need to rectify that. Plus packing water for a wet bath is not a very good option in winter unless your gonna buy an Arctic Fox then i could see it because those are 4 season slide ins, but heavy and you would most likely need a 1 ton or bigger and DRW. Slide ins have become more/more popular over the last couple years. And pricey, i would look at Bigfoot model good but expensive, Kustom Koach is building some lighter models for 1/2 tons but then again can be pricey. Lance makes some decent stuff as well but like i said you must match the camper to the truck. If you don't you could be hooped after you bought the camper and the truck is to small, always gauge higher GCW as well that way you have room for extra stuff if needed. Also get good tires with max load ratings, many don't and regret that later. Just my 002 on that whole TC thing.

Our next rv purchase will be the adventurer overlander. We have been looking at them for a few years now and shied away because we currently have the adventurer 950B witch suits us fine. However due to covid we can't fly or stay in hotels anymore but require at minimum 3 trips to children's hospital in Vancouver every year. Plus with all the off grid camping we do it just seems like the right fit love the 950B but these units will be the new go to

I haven't bought a new truck yet, mostly because I'm not sure of my needs yet. My F150 will be my daily driver, the new truck a dedicated hauler, likely an F350, or Ram 3500. Girlfriend doesn't need a shower, but a bathroom with toilet is a must in her opinion, and I tend to agree. A snow covered log at -20 is a terrible place to take a dump.

While really nice, I am scared to know the price.
Do you know what they cost, and how much they can tow?

I'm in a 2003 ford f250 extended cab long box with 7.3 diesel and a 07 Westanland 90W (9'6" and 2000lb dry). love everything about both. Got the package for 20K a couple years back. truck had under 100K on it and was stock. We can make it almost anywhere in this rig.

Next big purchase will be an Adventurer4, I think.... I want one bad, and you can tow with it. OR a BC rec property and then the fun really begins

Some extended family just bought a new Overlander like the ad above this summer. JAWDROPPER

Those were actually what I meant, the overlander is just the newest fancy version, the 4 is what we were looking at

We were at lake louise last winter, walking up from the road, came around a corner and an Adventurer4 was set up, slides out and a happy family coming out....

My trophy wife, who ain't fancy says "what the **** is that?" I said, "4x4 motorhome that can pull our boats and sled trailer" she was pretty much sold after that.

That is awesome, but probably close to a million as well if I were guessing.
I budgeted for about $150,000 is all.

Should be able to get a good setup for that. Not the Unimog though, thats for if money aint no thing. Personally I just tow a small holiday trailer and sleds on the deck.

I would like a more off roady trailer though. Maybe even a tent trailer on 35's and a pintle hitch.

That's a really slick idea instead of a camper if it's used enough. Whoever is rigging those up, or the seller is making bank on those if they are actually getting near that price. Even being generous that truck is $80k, there is no way in hell that camper is $100k, and to rig that onto a truck takes nothing.

Most are F550 chassis with 4 captains but the $$ is all in the onboard Onan, Solar this, Inverter that. The real overlander off-grid craze is here.
