So I winterized my Westland 90W for nothing?!?! lol I have a 9'6" camper and have thought about this a few times. The hitch gets me for sure, I would like to upgrade to a torkift SuperTruss but big $$...
-CO detector for anything with a furnace
-canvas wall tent for fire dryin' and drinks
A friend of mine has a big trailer with a woodstove in the V and 4 cots, works good... I met him by exactly what we are talking about, wanted somewhere to have a drink and randomly met great people.

if your heading up logging roads for camping do yourself a favor since the roads can change drastically every km... Chain up before you start up, personally i would add a steering chain as well as a chain on the trailer to make sure it follows you and not choose its own path into a ditch and pull you in... The rule applies to chains as well you get what you pay for...

We do the sled-camp thing all the time,
Boulder parking lot you get kicked out of in the morning
In fall and spring we always take a small atv with us so one guy can go ahead of the truck and see how far you can go, because sometimes it is not an option to turn around a truck and pushing your "Light" 2 place trailer down a road for 1 mile is not fun
It is a great time, you get down off the hill fire up the bbq or whatever good drinks great friends, learn who is a fricken loud snorer in a confined space ! lol

4500# trailer has to be an enclosed so just dry your gear out in there. For the most part once the season is in full swing you can just park at the bottom anyway but towing that kind of weight up an FSR I'd want all sorts of jewelry. At least both truck axles and a set for the enclosed.

I agree with not dragging a trailer up the FS roads without some sort of traction products. I will wait until we can just do the parking lot thing. With the covid thing going on do you think it will be an issue parking in the lots this year?

Last winter we camped out in the Barkerville parking lot for several days, and the Lucille lot in McBride, nobody said anything bad to us for doing it, but we also had season passes for both.

We do this a few times a year in an enclosed with wood stove or a wall tent, stayed in the wall tent one year at -38, pretty cold but the booze helped. Camper can get a bit chilly with just propane but run an electric as well and not bad. As far as I’m concerned it’s a really good time, plus the night rides rock.

I think it will depend a lot on the club managing the area but there are plenty of unmanaged areas to park at as well!

Having read comments from some about humidity in their camper, buy a dehumidifier and let it run.
My son has a enclosed we built fold up beds he fabs woodstoves on the side we installed a stove has a generator and takes a ceramic heater just in case. It sleeps 4 and hang the gear and its dry in no time we use it for November hunting also.

Number one priority for camping in the winter should be a carbon monoxide detector most campers and trailers don’t have a proper ventilation and heavy snow or ice could be a major problem some cargo trailers have warning signs not for sleeping quarters

We winter camp all winter at boulder mnt resort in revy. It’s prob better cause we use the shower house and hot tub but power and WiFi is included so run electric heat as much as possible we hang our gear in the bath tub and use the exhaust fan. Also dry gear is not a problem if you have good gear is really not even wet at the end of the day
