The Dometic fridge in our 2004 Cougar started causing us some issues last fall into this last May long. I figured in the fall we had it too full and it started freezing stuff. Last trip out, fridge was pretty empty, but it still froze everything.
Went through it last weekend and found a bad thermistor was the cause. Ordered a new one from Amazon on the weekend. It arrived yesterday, but i ordered the wrong one . I figured i'd same $30 and get the cheaper one, but found out its for an AC unit. I need the trailer for this weekend and am tempted to just splice the new end to the current harness. I tested the resistance, it's in the ballpark, not perfect but....
The proper thermistor is on the way but wont be here until next week. So the question is to splice or not to splice?

You might as well try splicing it but AC and refrigeration temps are quite different so I suspect thermistor for AC might not get cold enough. You could also use old one and shut fridge off manually before stuff freezes and turn back on after a bit, i know its a pain .

Fridge smartened up during our trip, didn't go down below -5.
New thermistor should be in the mailbox when i get home today. A quick swap and back to the storage lot!
BTW, Young Farts is helping me out with a window issue. Texted me well after closing when they missed my call. That's good service.
hopefully they will have a solution/new/used window for me.
