Looking for my options for bumpers and where to buy. I hit a mule deer out by smoky lake on Tuesday, damaged my 2017 chev truck. Need a new bumper, Grill, headlight bezel, Fender, door, running board, etc. But thinking that I may upgrade the front bumper to one like this, I don't want one that looks huge and sticks out for 2'

That bumper will do little to protect your truck. The bumper itself won’t be damaged with an animal strike, but the damage you suffered already will probably happen again when the animal rides over the bumper and hits the body of the truck. You need a bumper/grille guard combo to fully protect the front end. Been there done that!

I run a dodge, please save me the jabs... lol but I ended up ordering a set of bulletproof bumpers and I love them. The style I choose was their slimline and then I added a short prerunner hoop to the front to add some grill/rad protection. The guys there are fantastic and they are located in red deer which wasn’t too bad of a drive in my opinion. I will always suggest them as their fit and finish, quality of service, and customer service were top notch.

2 Big issues with all of these bumpers, first is the mounting locations. Buddy has a similar one on his truck and even the weight of it can cause all sorts of flex. The one time we used his winch on it it caused all the panel gaps to be fawked, almost pushed into the front panels up. Second one is if you do have a winch in it it causes the truck trans temp to be 40deg higher than if its not there.

I ended up buying the go rhino bumper from Trevor over at buzz on the west end of Edmonton. We ground off the paint in areas, bolted it together and it’s getting all the seams welded. Bolt holes filled in at parkland welding in spruce grove. Then going in for amorguard with Armorscott. Great quality well built bumper. My running board was bent so upgraded that as well with the go rhino brand they look a lot better.
