Any issues with a 6.2 GM

It’s not incorrect for anything before 2020 as they have changed it obviously as what I posted was from GM themselves as well .
Even what you posted ? Says recommended and 87 can be used ?!!!
Then buy the 5.3. If you are going to get the 6.2 because "It is soooo powerful" then use 87? The point is, this engine was designed to run on 93. It is a 20% for 91 and a 25% premium for 93. That isn't chump change and should be considered if buying one.

Also 2019 manuals state the same thing....

How many 6.2’s have you owned ? Just curious?

Need to own one to understand the economics of paying for premium?

To your question zero. Wanted to, then decided on a duramax. Still had a sled deck so, wanted the carrying capacity and in BC, diesel is normally cheaper than gas and at 30% (almost 40%) cheaper than 93 premium.

Again you don’t have to burn premium but you carry on trying to tell people that have owned them how the economics work .

Not sure where you are getting your fuel but typically premium is 8 to 12 cents more than regular, the new Direct Injection 6.2's get far better fuel mileage than the older ones, and they get better mileage on the highways than the new DI 5.3's.

That's my only regret on my 2015 gasser I bought, should have gotten the 6.2 over the 5.3, if it's only gonna get 16-18 mpg, might as well have the 400+ hp.

I wouldnt let having to burn premium sway the decision on an engine. Most vehicles run better on 91+ and get better mileage.... and most wouldnt notice the $10 difference when you fill up. I know I dont.

I just checked inside my fuel door and it states "Premium Fuel Recommended"
Dealership told me 2 reg, 1 prem
As posted earlier, premium only for me

Man I wish. Here it's usually a 20+ cent spread which on my 140L tank is $30/fill which I definitely notice especially as I have to run my card through again for the 2nd pre-auth.

Dude, I have nothing against Chev or the 6.2. Period. I simply stated a fact that it is recommended to use premium fuel that well, comes at a premium.

Kinda funny that you think one must purchase a 6.2 before understanding the economics. I guess when you are quoting fuel specs from 2014 to make your point, maybe you don't understand economics?

We've seen more lifter/camshaft issues on the 5.3s (Mainly the code 3 engines) than the 6.2s, that may be just due to the fact they're more common, but the lifter/camshaft issue shouldn't sway you away from the 6.2.

2017 GMC All Terrain 6.2 with 80 K currently on its way to the dealership on a flat deck compliments of GMC roadside assistance. Sounds like a typewriter under the hood.

Just came home from holidays, 2300kms in 1.5 weeks.
I ran Chevron Premium Plus (94) octane. About 0.20 more at every pump I filled up at, 2 people in the truck, approx 500lbs in the box the entire time.
I averaged 120-130 kph except Field - Banff, where I had a fast Caddy in front of me and stayed at 145 the entire time.
I just did the physical math and I averaged 28.8 mpg.
So for the extra 20 bucks/100L's, is premium worth it? Lol

And still no issues ;)

How are these at towing compared to the 6.6 gas? Anyone try both ever to compare? FWIW I just paid 80 cents/litre at Costco last week for diesel but a year ago it was more than gas so on the fence about jumping into a gasser again.

I had a 2018 Gm 2500 with 6.0 and 4:11's
Now 2018 HC with 6.2 and 3:23's I added a Super Spring leaf and got better mileage then my 6.0 towing the same holiday trailer to the same camp spot.
I am curious about the 6.6 as well? and what gearing they offer?

20% more expensive for fuel, so 20% less comparable fuel economy. 28.2 becomes 23.0. Just need to compare if one cares. My duramax gets an easy 21 mpg at 125-130 and in BC diesel is 0.20 cheaper than regular. So, at 0.40 cheaper than premium, I am getting better comparable fuel economy than the 6.2 at nearly 30 mpg.
