So I have a new Rockwood bumper pull and I have been looking into an Inverter/Converter combo unit so when dry camping the trailer can run off the 12v batteries for the TV's. Has anyone here ever done this. My new trailer has no 12v receptacles of any kind in it which kinda sucks. I have to put in an inverter but thought maybe just upgrade the whole thing....thoughts anyone

I'd be curious about this as well. I'm looking at doing the same, put in an inverter behind the TV and an extra outlet to charge phones etc. For me it's easy to pull the cable 4ft from the batteries to the TV, but power to every outlet would be way nicer.

The problem with a travel trailer is where the converter is located not much room to add a converter find a spot that would be accessible splice the 12 volt from the batteries then run your 110 cables back to the trailer converter

My solution for that when dry camping was a 12v cigarette adapter installed near the TV and a small inverter I can plug in when required to charge phones or run the tv/DVD

Most new LCD/LED TVs are very low wattage do you don’t need a large inverter.

Upgrading your onboard charger/invertor can be costly for diminishing returns.

I could do this for the main tv, but I don't have 12v anywhere in the bedroom.

What model is it?

Can you tie into the 12v that is at the main Tv and run a second supply to bedroom?

All of your lighting should be 12v as well so there is ample areas to get power from.

If adding a larger inverter is your only option is your shore power near your pass through? You could instal it in there and when you want 110 run the power cord to the pass through.

The issue with larger inverters is the draw more power to make power. Larger fans and such are energy wasters.

I guess I do have 12v lights in the bedroom, I will look tomorrow and see if any of them are easy to tie into. You have me thinking now. Thanks

My trailer is a 2020 Rockwood ultra light 2608BS,(its not so light, 7000lbs empty lol)

Yeah I was just trying to get an idea where you could get a supply from.

Interesting floor plan. The wardrobe would likely give you some area to hide any of your wiring improvements and even mount a small inverter if it’s similar to what I see online.

I would still fuse anything you add with a blade fuse prior to your inverter.

How about just buying 12v TV’s? Jensen makes them for RV’s.

I still have to get 12v to where the tv's are, I don't know if i really gain anything. The tv by the stereo is easy to get 12v to but the bedroom not so much. I think I am going to put in some lighter plugs and use small inverters to run the tv.

I have seen a few people try options with solar panels and different methods to run 110 volt power.

Many of they spent a lot of money with poor results.

Do lots of research.

All I did was buy usb plug in’s and 12 cigar plug in’s. Tied into the light wiring.

I run a 3500 watt invertor/generator when I want 110. It’s quiet.

Just my opinion.

If you are able to put lighter plugs in, than a 12v tv will work really good.

There are restrictions now for generator use in provincial campgrounds. I like to watch some tv when I crawl into bed and trying to make that happen. I don't drink coffee either lol.

Pure sine inverter feeding the bedroom?
I put a battery ups into my bedroom. The price was right to give it a try. Gonna try that out next trip.
If it doesn't work out then I'll add an inverter to feed the bedroom
