I ran into the guy I bought my 2012 mega cab from and tweaked my brain into probably time to upgrade again.
Found a 2019 but it has the Aisin tranny in it , I’m well versed in the mega cab life as this is my 5th dodge. But never had anything to do with the Aisin’s.
Are they worth the extra money? Can you still delete? Is there a tranny tune?

I am deleted in a 16 with the Aisin trans and have had no issues for 130 000 kms. Shifts good and hard. No complaints (yet)

The Aisin was a much needed improvement over the 68RFE, they are a lot more robust.

But IMO I don't think they compare to the Ford 6R140 or the 6 Speed Allison 1000. I don't like how the Aisins shift and find them somewhat unpredictable.

they are alot better than the 68rfe for life span and seem to take more to destroy them. we see alot more 68rfe come into work than the aisin .

I’m not a burnout at every light guy. I run my truck now at +90hp when not in tow mode.
My worry is my tranny will blow and I’ll be in too deep to get rid of it. But probably a $45000 upgrade! Fricken trucks

Think about it this way... when I factory ordered mine in late 15 I paid $89000. At this point you are looking at 99000-103000 depending on minor options. Trucks aren’t cheap. Buy the one you love and do her right. Maybe my oldest boy will take this beaut off my hands when I buy my next new truck (25 years later due to cost lmfao)

should have said the MSRP was and is.... I paid WAYYYYY less as my cousin was the business manager lol. But you are totally right. I am sure many are buying in the 10-20k below MSRP field.
