Thinking of trying out the newer destination xt's. Supposed to compete with the duratracs, bfg all terrains etc and they are snowflake rated. My buddy works for bridgestone all over western Canada but mostly in mining and swears that these are just awesome tires. Was wondering if anyone on here has tried them out yet?

I wouldn’t compare those to duratrac at all.
I’d say it’s a lot closer to the bfg a/t that came on the mid 00’s ford trucks. Might be a great three season highway tire but it’s gonna really suck in muddy and slippery conditions imo.

I have those destination Xt on my service truck (2500 gmc with tools/topper) I have around 20k on them and they work pretty well. They chew in the snow very good....decent on ice.
My previous tires were the duratracs but they chewed up quick and only got around 45k out of them.

I should mention that I’m close to gvw of the truck and I drive a fair amount of gravel.
Then anything you buy will only last 45k....

Yeah your right they won’t last as long....but what I do know is these Firestone’s are not chewed up as bad as the duratracs with the same mileage.

Doesn't everyone get 22 mpg, and over 110,000 kms out of their tires?
I guess if you never spun a tire, never carried anything, and drove a maximum of 70 kms/hr, in summer, on flat ground, that might be possible.

If your getting 80-130,000 km out of a set of truck tires i bet the last 50,000 km of it has been without much traction, lol

Most I have ever got was 60000 ish but I change tires out before wore out as hate that last 30% .

Well, I don't drive much gravel, nor do I load up at GVW as truck is mostly used as a regular vehicle except for 5000km of sled deck use. Truck has 85km on the tires with 9/32nd of tread on the rears and 11/32nd of tread on the fronts. I was going to change them start the winter, but that is too much tread to simply throw out for me. I am thinking I still have a lot more traction than most of the 'berta trucks int the lot with new MT's. lol
These two tires are nothing alike ? Deep snow duratracs for sure on road Firestone. My self i run duratracs because I m pulling a trailer and hate getting stuck . Not many tires can keep up with the Duratracs in deep snow but they are **** on ice and they shake, have soft sidewalls. Its all what u want to do . As for tire life winter tires dont last long when towing trailers .i get 3 winters and one summer out of winter tires . About 40k ish . Good luck .
