Anyone had experience with this?

Will I have issues in BC or the states because I did a delete kit on my Ram 3500?

Diesel Particulate Filter was getting plugged and I wasn't going to spend over $2,000.00 just for the part to replace it.

I've never traveled in the US more than a couple of miles in Hyder AK so not sure there, but have traveled enough in northern BC to know there are also a lot of locals with deleted diesels as well. Now obviously blowing big clouds of black is different then one that runs clean and relatively quiet, but I've never had issues with mine being deleted, but my truck doesn't smoke and I try not to be a jack@ss with it.

As for what the laws say I have no idea.

I ran my deleted Ram in BC lots, never had an issue with it. Then again that truck looked and sounded fairly stock, didn’t have a straight pipe, Berta boys sticker and a 12” lift. There was a thread on here a few years ago ago that had guys saying a deleted diesel would be grounded in BC and the VIN blacklisted. I’m not sure how much truth there was to that but if you don’t be a douche and keep your tunes clean, you’ll be fine IMO. If you were to roll black clouds in downtown Vancouver or Victoria, I’m betting you’d have an angry mob chasing you down and out for blood.

No problems in either BC or US. Crossed the border many times. Never any mention of it.

You will only have a issue if you are moving to bc and have to have a inspection done... Everything that came from factory has to be their so it would never pass a inspection.. If your just traveling to ether place you will have no issues unless your stupid and get pulled over for a roadside inspection. Then they can ticket you and report it back to your home town if they want if the same rules apply their... Years ago i had a office pull me and try to ticket me for a veh violation. I told him it was allowed where i lived and handed him the ticket back and left

And if you move to BC and need to get an inspection done, take it to a small shop and give him the wink, wink. That is what I did and he checked the box.

If you're going to Montana, Idaho, etc. no problem at all in the U.S. ... if going to California then a completely different story from what I have been told as they are quite picky on emissions.

As long as it's not loud or rolling coal, they'll never ask in california... Had my old deleted mega cab there several times pulling my 28ft sled trailer and never even a looksee

Given the fact that we have all known since the start that deleting a truck and messing with the egr and messing with the emission system system and removing the catalytic converter is illegal why is it still a question of "am I going to get busted here or there?" Its just as much illegal in BC as it is in Alberta, California or new York. Most Johnny law guys know but it's no worth the paperwork to issue a fine, especially to a non local guy. However if your messing around and being a class A D-Bag your probably going to find the one cop who is having a bad day because his wife took off with a rig hand and the guy is going to make a example of you. If people are so damn worried about the outcome of deleted trucks, stop deleting them. The benefit isn't that big, especially when under warranty, it won't get you anymore friends and a real woman doesn't care what chip configuration you have.

Get over yourself, dont complain about the rules if your not playing by them.

Once off warranty, the benefit it huge. I just had mine in for a def heater replacement at 73,000km. Warranty runs out at 80k. It was covered under warranty, but cost would have been close to $1500. Screw that, I would have walked away and deleted it for the same cost. Then all the benefits and nothing extra. The emissions crap is BS.

Pretty sure I did. Your point seems to say the benefit isn't that big anytime. Well, pretty sure the benefit is there, especially off warranty.

The benefits aren't there when under warranty. To gain the extra fuel mileage initial cost with programmer, exhaust and labor will easily reach $2000. Actual fuel savings are literally pennies on the dollar. Takes a crap ton of fuel to pay that back not to mention you have no warranty if something goes wrong

Once the warranty is off roll the dice. But really small amount of gain for the 2k up front. Not sure what shop you go to or what you have for a truck but I've done my def heater twice at $500 each time

Yes it is. There is just no annual inspection in Alberta, and seeing the condition of some cars and trucks on the road, there should be.

I know a guy who got fined for pulling a trailer that was wider than 8 ft and his truck had no clearance lights.

So if you drive a deleted truck, you take a risk of getting fined everytime you leave the driveway, no matter where your destination is.

Get more warranty, you would be surprised how cheap factory extended warranties are if you look into it.

My 2012 ram 3500 just came off its 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. I just added another 5years 100000km, those km are on top of the odo reading as well. It was cheap, I just have to pay a 200 deductible now.
