What should I expect for discount on new Chev Diesel

Since the Ford is dead, been thinking about 2019 holdover 1 tons since 2020's are arriving on lots. What should one expect to be able to negotiate in terms of percentage off? I saw a thread here that some of you were getting 20 to 25% off Ford's. Chevy and GMC the same?

Just had a f350 king ranch quoted out at 83k, would imagine others are right there.

Their current incentive is a $6500 off for Costco members. Plus another couple thousand wiggle room if you barter hard.

But at the moment you can get both the discount and financing incentives. 0% for 5 years. The financing is big savings if you are not paying cash.


Just did a deal on a suburban. Waiting for it to get shipped up. Likely get it Tuesday.

Sticker on the suburban was $91. Deal was at $82. Supposably only 1.5% above invoice.

Not sure if there are additional incentives on the trucks or diesels.

This is a deal I was working on last week but decided I'm gonna go used instead... not a bad deal but still a pile of cash for just a pickup truck.

Just bought a F350 platinum had the ultimate package, the hitch and had the box sprayed. Right around $84000 OTD. Wanted to try to find something used but good luck you may as well buy new with the price of a used diesel pick up.

If your not getting $20k off list price your probably not playing dealerships against eachother properly.

There definitely is not $20k to move off of MSRP. Someone also mentioned Costco, the Costco preferred pricing doesn't apply to the GM HD (2500 and 3500) trucks. I work in sales at a dealership in the CGY area if anyone needs details on the programs, PM me.

Why do dealerships even have sales people anymore if there isn't any room to wheel and deal?

I could look at the website to figure out what the current programs are.

IMO if a salesperson can't do better than the current programs you find one that needs to eat worse.

Wonder how long before you can just buy a truck off the GM/Ford/Dodge website?

And yes I have bought Diesel trucks for $20k off, salesperson needed victim services afterwards but I felt great.
Just can't be in a rush.

You’ll get $20k off of a Fiat, but no way will you get that from ford or GM unless it’s a super undesirable stripper. Fiat is now offering the diesel option for free in order to move their trucks. Good news/bad news thing. Good news is you save $10k, bad news is it’s a Fiat.

There is definitely room to move and if you have a good salesperson they will get you a very good price. Just not $20k worth on trucks these days.

If you're not getting anything off beyond manufacturers discount on the run of the mill pickup, you're a sucker plain and simple. But it's not dealer logic. Anytime i've asked for a price and it's sticker minus manufacturer discounts I say "i'm not paying sticker" and they are baffled because they think they are offering a discount when it's the manufacturer discount, but no that's still sticker price. Unless it's a very limited production, there is always room to deal. But it seems to vary based on the day, weather, who the fawk knows if the dealership is willing to deal. I've went into a dealership knowing what I should pay willing and wanting to buy right then and there and they weren't budging on last years stock, there were like $3k. Their comment was there's only a few left and we don't think we'll have trouble selling them as we've sold some at that price. 3 months later, all of them still on their website.....

I don't get their mentality. There is endless trucks available. Make $1 on 10 trucks instead of $10 on 1 truck and offer the best price upfront, and you will be so busy it's not even funny, and making the most money in town.

But i've heard a lot of them, they think Edmonton is big enough they don't give a fawk about repeat business or a bad reputation. And 99% of dealers are the same so people just get cycled around and around so they will always have lots of business. The best dealers I think are the small towns, where reputation means more and people are a lot more willing to boycott them.

My favorite quote is "we are below invoice" and are not making anything on this sale.

Yes, this multimillion dollar building and staff of 30 operates without making $$$ on each sale.

Well the fords are $13-14k down right now in family pricing shouldn't take to.many phone calls to hard to milk another $6k-$7k off.

If not $20k what's your bottom line, no bs, snow and mud price.
