I have a 16 2500HD and one tranny cooler line is beginning to weep at the crimp. Does anyone have an aftermarket solution to GM’s chitty lines?
I also have a power steering line that’s doing the same.

Purchase compatible hose and clamps, cut the aluminum crimp off, install new hose and gear clamps retaining the metal part of the original line.

At least that's what I do when the ****ty stock crimped hoses start leaking, which they always do.

G. M tried that back in 01-02-03-04 when they had issues and no stock on new lines , the lines are aluminum type and are kind of a metric size, the hydraulic line crimp ends done crimp cause it's between the two sizes

I had a transmission line blow apart at the crimp coming back from sledding on a cool -30 evening. Luckily it wasnt far from my house.

Replaced all the lines with the with the deviant kit previously posted. Refilled with Transynd allison approved fluid (not dex6). No worries anymore and hasnt skipped a beat.

I’d say. Mine has 76k and they’re leaking. I might have to look into Greggs.

I highly recommend upgrading your lines! They can break right off halfway between Revy and Golden on a Sunday evening when you still have to get back to Edmonton that night.

I got a 2007 gmc, the lines leaked shortly after I got the truck (20-30k). the only replacement was factory lines. So I had some new ones made, it cost me about $500 but they haven`t leak again.

I went to greenline bought good quality hose and gear clamps and cut the bugger off myself, left the flared ends on and clamped the new hose on.....Canadas small market so GM doesn't care if you're crappy aluminum crimped lines work in +30 to minus 30

I bought a set of Deviant lines and fittings from BC Diesel just waiting for them to arrive. I’m start my holidays on the 10th and I’m dragging my trailer all over western Canada, so hopefully they arrive before then.

MAKE SURE when your taking off the fittings on the trans cooler and putting the new ones on it that you put a wrench and counter torque. That little head on the cooler bends and can crack like a pop can.

Ask me how I know lol!

THANK YOU for that piece of advice. There is something to be said for experience lol. I’d be friggin choked if I had to replace a cooler at the same time.

How long did it take you to change them? Doesn’t look like too terrible of a job.

I had it all done and decided to tweak the angle of the hose on the cooler and crack. Lol wasnt to happy

Your looking around 2.5 hourish. I cut all the old lines as I didnt want to waste a bunch of time fishing out the old ones.

I routed the new lines nicely and ziptie together. Any spots or bends that looked like might have rubbing I wrapped with rubber.

Fill with transynd or amsoil torque drive which i believe is also tes-295 rated fluid

My 08 GMC leaked bad too. You would think after so many years they would figure it out. I did, I went back to a RAM, problem solved. And I feel 10 years younger.
