Well I pulled my batteries in the fall and put them in the basement. put them on the smart charger last night and they both say F01.... So I think they're toast. Where is the best place to buy the replacements?

6v are tricky. I’d make sure water level is good then connect them in series and put the highest amp 12v charger you have on them. It might take a week but I bet they come around. I’ve had this happen to the 6v’s in my sled trailer after sitting all summer.

If you do need new go to Costco

I just got a couple from Costco as well. Crappy Tire has a 6v battery with more amp hours than the costco ones for a little more than the costco ones, with the same warranty. Those would be my 2 cheaper options unless you want to crack open the wallet

I’d buy Costco long before Crappy Tire. I’ve been buying Costco batteries for everything lately and no issues yet.

I took them off the “smart” charger and put one on an old one at 2amps and it has creeped up to 50% over a few days. Slow going though. Should I bump it up to 12 amp charge? Havent tried the other one yet but I hope their still useable! They’re the Canadian tire models.

I'd throw the smart charger back on and let it do it's thing. If you have a NOCO charger they have a repair or desulphation mode, might not be a bad idea since the plates are probably sulphated from being dead for a while.

But I also wouldn't be scared to throw it on 12 amp charge, they do say the slower the better, but my trailer has something like a 50 amp converter and it hasn't killed the batteries yet.

I have the eliminator orange smart charger, I said "F01" but it doesn't have a 6 volt mode so I thought they were pooched. I should go get a NOCO though, that 5 minute full charge mode for a 12 volt is handy!

I have that Eliminator Orange charger as well and would always get that F01. Would have to unplug and start over. Finally parked it on the shelf and got one of the NOCO units. Works fantastic.

Hook them up and charge them as a 12v system.
I started a thread here about Trojan Batteries. I've learned a bunch about them from that thread and a ton more from the research i've done on my own.
