Bought my 14 ram March of 14 at 104km. Deleted at 25000km. Now at 407000km. The cost of not having to maintain egr cooler and not filling the def is a benefit alone. I gutted the CCV filter so no more 200.00 changes every 6 months.

that CCV filter direct from cummins is only $85.... not the $200 + that dodge charges.

OK I get it if you want to circumvent 70 years of progress and innovation and make black smoke come our you exhaust like "The Good Old Days". Personally I'm not convinced that climate change is man made, but I like the idea of my friends and family breathing cleaner air. It's also real nice to start up a John Deere field tractor with a final tier 4 emissions (Equipped with DEF) in a shop and continue to work after it leaves. I don't miss the days of having to leave a 40' door open for 15 minutes just so you could see. I know that may be a left leaning notion and that 500hp is more than 400 HP but I'm VERY impressed with the UNBELIEVABLE progress made with the power and emissions on a pickups in the past 20 years. I suppose if a pickup came with 1000 HP and exhausted pure O2 and got 2L/100 the gadget makers would still have a market for upgrades.

Car manufactures hands are tied due to emissions no way in hell the number of new non deleted would hit the 500xxx km without motor issues like so many non dpf/egr diesels in the past. My 2012 dodge was 24 litres per 100 down to 14 after deleted and no more trips to the dealer for regen issues. My 17 ford however did not see near the gains like the dodge did for fuel economy but i sure notice after 8000 km my oil sure as hell looks alot better compared to non deleted. Warm
your engine up dont drive it like a dragster and some things break thats just life but i dont beleave the new version of deletes is doing damage atleast prob less then the egr, dpf are doing allready

Then you truly do not understand what this "accessory gadget" is or does. The only reason there is a DPF or DEF fluid is to help emissions. It is not to improve engine longevity. Both cost $$ and both decrease engine performance and longevity.

I have not deleted my 2016 duramax simply because of the warranty risk, but I deleted my 2010 Ford at 2 months after I bought it at 5000 km. Best thing I ever did, but fortunately I did not need a serious warranty claim.

I dont go around town rolling coal, truck hardly smokes if at all. But from 600km to 850km a tank is nice and that tier 4 crap is a joke we burn so much more fuel now then our previous 13 model year tractors

Your experience is exactly opposite of mine with John Deere and the Duramax. Particularly with the John Deere the combined Fuel and DEF consumption is markedly less than the fuel consumption alone in the tier before it. In both cases DEF consumption is minimal unless you are bagging on it. I am told that fuel and DEF consumption reduction in part has to do with the placement of the particulate filter directly after the turbo which elevates the filter temp which intern reduces the regen frequency. I can't attest to this, but it makes sense to me. Damned dodge now another emissions part just fell off haha. Could have left the throttle valve in there I guess but this new piece is shiny, saves about 16oz of weight and only cost me $40.

On a serious note this truck is a '12 and if it was any newer I probably wouldn't have deleted it. The factories seemed to get things figured out pretty well with the new diesels getting good mileage and the lack of smell keeping the DPF intact would be a bonus.

Sure is nice to be rid of the EGR system pumping that soot through the motor though.

That bracket's a bit of an eyesore agreed, was going to mount a little tool tray on there. Thats my excuse for it still being there anyways.
