I run the towtector and its been good as long as you have it 2 inches above the ground, but there is no system that totally protects the front of your trailer, I have at least 9 miles of gravel to get to the highway and have had several trailers and several rock guards and so far the towtector is been the best

Not sure if you have a bumper pull or 5th, but an option I found to work really well was to Line-X the front of my trailer. Have a bumper pull. Works great for rocks/mud. Don't have to worry about chipping up the gel coat.
