I went with airbags on my Ram 1500 instead of add a leaf,.. then on my Ram 2500 I also went airbags. Leave them at 10psi unloaded, and inflate them to pressure needed when hauling. I rarely haul/tow,.. so I have always chose airbags for my needs.

i have had airbags on my last 3 trucks (f150/F350/Ram 3500) i would not own a truck without them now
first 2 trucks just had the fill valves in the rear bumper holding the licence plate on
on my Ram i found a good deal on RIde rite wireless compressor kit ( would not go back to not having the compressor now that i have had one )

Empty 12’ trailer attached. It would squat.

Where did you mount the compressor?

How much does it drop when loaded? 2500 or 3500? might be able to get away with a 4" block without changing ride.

Has 3" blocks now. It's neither it's a 1500. Stupid but Dodge made everything the same for two years of these trucks same shocks as 2500 but different front coils and rear doesn't have coils, even has 8 lug wheels and same brakes as 2500.

You would have fooled the sled deck on a 1/2 ton thread that's for sure

If I remember the only diff from the 1500/2500 megacab is the rear leafs. I have been out of the truck scene for awhile so I could be wrong. I can't remember if you could put 2500 leafs in the back.

That's worth looking into, if its as easy as a swap that would help.

I still have the OEM leafs from my '12 dodge 2500 diesel if you're interested. I'd recommend the airbag route though, better unloaded ride quality and you can adjust air pressure for any load. Keep it simple and use the shraeder fitting as licence plate mounts, you can always add the compressor and modify the plumbing later.

Adding leafs makes ride suffer, air bags with 10psi unloaded make a 1 ton ride better, so loaded with 25lbs in them it rides even better loaded

Air bags all the way

and don't tee the two air bags together on the fill lines they should not be connected so air doesn't push from one bag to the other in a corner or dip
