I agree !! I’ve had three trucks with airbags, last one was an extended cab short box with the compressor kit and individual lines to each bag. Worked great. Sold that truck to my buddy and it’s still going strong.

Now if someone could come out with a full air ride system for a HD truck (frt & bk) that’s completely adjustable from the cab, that would be something! Lowered for the highway, lift for the backcountry..... you get the idea....
Kelderman air suspensions.
Only 20k for a 1 ton.

I still have the OEM leafs from my '12 dodge 2500 diesel if you're interested. I'd recommend the airbag route though, better unloaded ride quality and you can adjust air pressure for any load. Keep it simple and use the shraeder fitting as licence plate mounts, you can always add the compressor and modify the plumbing later.
What chu want for the leafs? I found conflicting info on fitment haha some say yes some say no go.

Don’t get these! I had Tiberlin I think they are called in my half ton, but the same idea as these. Worked ok empty but with a load on they ride like hell! It wrecked the ride of my truck. Even empty if I hit a big bump it would hit these and stop the suspension from moving. The truck suspension with load is a rubber block. My vote is air bags!

The difference bwteen the 1500 and 2500 mega cab is the diffs,.. Lee you have the same rear leafs.

Edit.,.. let me change this a bit,.. 1500 are a softer rate than a 2500,.. not worth swapping out IMO over just getting airbags.

I didn't look for a change up, I am only familiar with 2006-2008,.. yours is 2007/08 I can't tell cause your fender badge is gone. But regardles, you would have to measure pack thicknes, center to center and droop. I would put bags in to keep smooth ride empty over swapping leafs cause you don't haul 24/7.

Was just going to say, it's the same as the 2500, only difference is gear ratio and trans if I recall

Brakes and shocks and springs are the same,

Just like the chev 1500hd, was the same as 2500hd just 3.42 ratio and not 3.73 or 4.10

Looking for advise on what one is better and why. I have never purchased or used either before, school me please. My winter daily driver is 08 Megacab Hemi, usually haul one sled with a deck.

Air bags.
Adjustable to what you are hauling for weight.
Keeps the ride as smooth as possible when loaded and like stated 10# when empty.
I always ran my airbags about 30% more than required with two sleds on deck.
NO chassis roll we cornering or passing.

I have bags on my 3500 ram. Mounted the compressor on the frame under the rear passenger door. Nice and high as to not get too dirty and easy to access if something happens. Its been good all summer but the real test is coming this winter. Tow a truck camper and boat in the summer. 2 sleds on a deck in the winter. takes a little bit of the sway out from the sleds being so high up.
