My truck is in Hinton and I may need to get this done?
Or does anyone know of a cheap trucking company to get my truck back to GP?
Any downsides to deleting?

There used to be. I'm not sure he is in business anymore. Had a shop on the backside of cross fit by Boston pizza.

I think I will end up getting it towed back to GP. I know and trust a shop here to do it.

I heard some talk about the Province implementing emissions testing. If that occurs, and you delete the dpf and other emission equipment, you may have to put it back in.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

this has been talked about by alberta transportation for years and years.... Talking to some of the inspectors and managers, it doesn't appear to be happening anytime in the near future....

I tell everyone that is going to delete now to keep the old stuff as it may have to be put back on at some time.

If it does happen I’m sure there would be some kind of grandfather clause.

Removing emissions components that meet current standards violates those standards. I couldn’t imagine if they enforced it, that there would be any grandfathering.

If implemented it would likely be like everywhere else. Whatever the emissions standards were for your vehicle at the time of manufacture is what it would have to meet.

The kicker would be if they decided to go with visual inspections also as it is possible to meet or beat the numbers with tuning alone in some vehicles and if it needs to pass visual people would HAVE to put the crap back on.

Lol! Yeah... just ask Volkswagen how do beat the computer. How did that work out for them.

I did a dpf delete in my 08 6.7L Dodge back on 2009, best thing I ever did. Threw out all the unneeded parts. I wont worry about emissions testing if I were you. I've been stopped at the random vehicle inspections a couple times over the years and they never popped the hood to look. I did the dpf delete through Armor Inc out of Red Deer.

You’ll probably be ok here in Canada but if you go to the states you could be it for tag. I was in a campground in California an the smog police came in and did a visual inspection on all the diesel pickups. Any that failed visual were tagged and pulled off the road. I had a diesel at the time that I had deleted the egr but just welded the cooler shut and gutted the cat. I asked the CARB inspector if I was exempt being from Canada and he said no. The truck came with certain emissions equipment from the factory and had to be there to operate legally on road in California.
