I run a 12 ft v nose and I got a 3500 axle with torsion axle I have no complaints and I have 3/4 plywood on it, I have hauled everything on that trailer and it’s been good, no brakes though

For anyone buying a PA axle, I'd suggest greasing the bearings yourself before installing it. They tend to be a little shy on the grease for my liking and I've also found pre-torque to be all over the map.

I've had the bearings last 3 times longer when I have done this as opposed to just bolting it in.

unless there is a spacer “cone” between the inside races of the inside and outside bearing there should be no preload on the bearings at all. If there is a “cone” installed, this is so you end up with proper end play (as long as the cone was not run loose previously and is now worn) when the adjusted nut is torqued to a determined value. 0.001”-0.005” end play is pretty well standard across the board weather it be dexter/stemco/China/etc. A loaded bearing will be a hot bearing.... just saying, not trying to be a d!ck.
