I know there’s an older post on this too, but wondering if there’s anything new/better these days? I’m looking for something to help keep down the hiway debris - don’t do a lot of towing on gravel really.

I have these and went away from them as rocks go between them and bumper .
They go straight up and land on object being pulled.
I built brackets that slide into receiver frame and bolt flaps to that .
Keeps flap under the track and work way better.
Slide them out when not needed.
Will get a picture and add .

Did mounting them at a forward angle make any difference?

With your design - sounds like it would slide into the receiver hitch from the backside, underneath? Are you still able to use the receiver hitch for towing, or your setup is with gooseneck / 5th wheel?
