Best snow tire for a 1 ton?

Starting to look for my next set of winter tires and wondering what otherís experiences have been for a one ton diesel? I currently have the Toyo CTís studded and like them in snow but found them just ok on ice. Maybe they just need more syping? Also interested in getting decent longevity. So far Iíve got about 40K kmís on mine. Need a E rated tire. Thanks!

Cooper discovery winters with studs, I've had them for 4 winters now and will probably get another year. Tons of tread and they work great.

I have been running hakaplida factory studs for 3 winters now pulling a 30ft enclosed.

They are really good on the ice but leave little to be desired in the staging areas when there is 1ft of fresh. Or on logging roads. But I guess that is what chains are for.

50% left on the tires treadwise.
    Estimated 40k km.
50% of the studs left too.

Next set will probably be either the nitto exo grappler or the duratrac with additional aftermarket siping.
    Maybe studs.......

X2 on the Coopers. I had them on my last truck - did very well.

This time around I tried: General Grabber Arctic with Studs. They have worked very well and had decent ratings.

You get what you pay for from a reputable tire dealer, on a winter product.

Thatís interesting... the guy I was buying from told me NOT to put the Hakkapeliitta on the truck. I wanted to use these tires for the truck as we have them on the SUV and theyíre a fantastic tire. But this sales guy was adamant they are not the best choice for a HD Pickup, and steered me away. I didnít do a tonne of research at the time - just trusted him and went another direction (General) which has been great too.

    He is probably correct.
Good tire, as far as icy roads go.
But probably not the the best well rounded winter tire.

I ran studded Firestone Winterforce on a SRW service truck before and was happy with them.

I'm running a set of Cooper ST Maxx with studs for winter tires and I'm very impressed with them so far. One of the best tires I've run in the winter yet. Even a guy with me yesterday commented on how well they gripped the road while running some backroads heading sledding. That being said I've never run a dedicated winter tire.
