is kestone the trailer manufacturer? for example forest river manufactures a lot of rvs under different names, not a steller reputation, as they build to minimum standard for subframe, materials etc.

and is the fridge filled with keystones?

My buddy has a keystone outback ( don’t remember the model). It’s a decent enough trailer, kinda middle of the road quality-wise. Like most trailers in that price range, the frame is the weak point. His was starting to crack right above the suspension mounts. He took it into standens in calgary and had the frame reinforced with some 2” tube and had the hitch to frame area gussetted as well. These frame problems aren’t just a keystone thing, it’s common across a lot of manufacturers.

check for keystone bad reviews. manufacture site reviews are usually suspect.

My Dutchmen did this as well. The out back uses a lot of aluminum as well. Kinda don’t like that

I have a Keystone Raptor and ill never buy a Keystone again. It is suppose to be a their top of the line toy hauler, and it looks all pretty when you do a walk through, but if you actually look into the build quality it seems sub par for what you pay for. My buddy has a Keystone Fusion and feels the exact same way. If I was to by a new trailer I would look into Grand Designs, seems to be one of the few that offer a 3 year warranty, where most are only offer 1 year.

Is it the Outback that has the rear "outback" slide? if so I would search the RV forums heavily on that model and make your on decisions. I looked at a few and thought it was a nice idea but the slide system wasn't great and they had a lot of rigging issues.

Keystone makes other Outback models that do not have the outback slide. Like any manufacturer, ForestRiver as another example, they have a wide range of quality and models, from entry level wood/tin construction to all aluminum/fibre. Some of the Keystone models like Montana are very nice units. It all comes down to dealer support should you have an issue. The more expensive the trailer, the more likely to have a problem.

I have a 2007 outback. I bought new and haven’t had one problem with it... but it’s been parked at Koocanusa since 2009 so not a ton of miles on it. They are all the same....

No rear slide. One slide on the table or LH side
