I had vibration issues with mine. Doesn't happen on every 6.4 but it does on too many. Take it for a long road test and make sure it feels solid and no vibes.

Brothers truck so I know the history pretty well. No vibes, new rear end at 150k not much more. Did you pull much with yours? Thanks!

I pulled my enclosed with it plus some smaller trailers and a camper. Worked ok but that truck gave me a bitter taste with dodge and I switched to Chev. Previous dodges were good to me. One of my vibrations was at 70kmh when the 4cyl mode would kick in. At that time I good chunk of my commute was at 70. Mileage was just ok and typical of a hemi. 13-15 mpg. On the hills towing the engine likes to rev.

Mine was the same way. I chalked it to being the way a big V8 would run on 4 cyl. Never thought it was a vibration as per se. The truck was great. Pulling wise, if you had a headwind you were down to 4th reving at 3000 rpm. Other than that, 5th the whole time. Oil changes are a bit expensive as you have to run 0w40 full synthetic oil. Fuel wise, not any harder than my 07 Hemi.

not to steer you different but have you looked at a Tundra, looking for a gasser to run around, always been a Ford guy but I am not impressed by the aluminum so looking at other options. Know a couple people with them and they are sold, stopped and looked at them the other day and pretty nice, big cab, well equipped for a way better dollar.

I agree the tundra is great, huge cab, probably the closest to Mega cab size. Small fuel tank from the complaints I've heard 80something litres?

Doing some research, it sounds like a tune and tranny shift point adjusting goes a long ways? Probably typical tune "magic" lol

I just remembered that my truck had 3.73 gears. I always thought they were the wrong ratio. Rpms always slightly low. 4.10 is better in that truck.

i have a 2014 2500 Crew cab with the 6.4. I tow a 11,000b trailer often in the summer. pulls no problem. Just stays in 3 and 4 gear in tow haul mode. running high octane fuel seems to really help with towing. Depending on the wind i get anywhere from 27-33 L/100km. Its hard on fuel for sure but has does the job just fine. I towed the trailer all the way to Smithers BC last year and averaged 28L/100km. Only upgrade I have is a K&N air filter.

4.10 or 3.73?
