Went in to lubex for oil change and rear diff bolt magnet full of filings and large flat paper thin piece metal.about 5mm X 8mm flat piece.
Any common issues known before it goes back to dealer.
Still on warranty so should not be a cost issue just looking for any common failures first.

Not a lot of problems with these in the Dodge in general, can you post a pic of the filings and metal piece

Sounds like part of a shim and some filings from either break-in wear or from the rest of the shim that got ground up. How coarse were the filings? Ordinarily the break-in stuff ends up like a grey paste that sticks to the magnet. If the filings are coarse and look like filings from a grinder then you’ve got some serious problems in that rear axle. Good thing it’s under warranty!

Filings and oil black. No grey sludge like from a slow wear.
Looks spikey like dry filings on a magnet.
Goes in on Saturday
