I realize I'm opening myself up to take a beating but I'm so pissed off I don't care.
So Nissan wants to play with the big boys, they need to play like a big boy!!
Bought my Titan diesel from LA which is also part of Sherwood Nissan:
go there today to pickup an air filter ( I'm leaving for Revy early Monday morning)
Get there and their parts dept is closed for inventory!!!
Both dealerships!! (I get a discount from them on parts)
are you *******uckin kidding me!!
You got a lot to learn if you want to play with the big three!!
Sorry there's my rant

Yep that sucks. I had that happen last week while down south. Two shops I wanted to get parts from were closed on mondays. It is what it is.

Lets see now, you left something til the last minute and when things didn't go your way it's someone elses fault. Not only that but you call them out as being poor businessmen. Heaven help anyone that deals with your lordship.

1. Canadian Tire and NAPA were still open. :) I never buy filters from the dealer as it always seems cheaper to buy as good or better elsewhere.

2. It is just an air filter. Not possible that it could go another 1500 kms?

3. Oh yes. HOW DARE THEY?!? What a bunch of jerks :)

Your right, I took it for granted I work out of town and assumed when I got back that they would be open.

Pick it up in Calgary on your way by. Royal Oak Nissan - Just off of Stony Trail Westbound between Sarcee Trail and Country hills Boulevard.

I use Can Tire for air filter. Go directly to Cummins for fuel/oil ect. Way way cheaper then dealer, likely the case even with your discount. Not sure what Nissan requires but this is what i found best for my Ram 3500 after a pile of research.

Also, Napa will have 50% off DEF usually in the spring.

Ya there is a reason why they are cheaper. Because they are not a good..When you pay alot for something why would you put a $10.00 part in it unless it's only worth $10.00

I think if you do the checking you will find that most of the routine maintenance stuff is made by the same manufacturers to the same specifications. It just costs less. Buy where you want to. I have better things to do with my time and money than go stand in line to overpay for the same Fram filter that is on the shelf at Crappy Tire.

There absolutely is a difference if you look at walmart and CT they spec out certain high volume filters from manufacturers and grind them on pricing... brings people in the door who also grab some oil and what ever else along the way. Basic Fram filters are one of the lower end brands that they typically do this with. Cut apart some filters and see the difference.
