I have an 06 duramax with a 4.5 bds lift, I never did add the 1.5” wheel spacers at the rear to match the width of the front axle, but wanted to add them. I heard a few negatives about them as far as them losening off and being hard on axle bearings. Maybe it’s not even an issue.apparently there are some different spacers, some more expensive than others, anyone have any info on this?

I looked into spacers for a 08 duramax and every tire shop I spoke to refused to install them. Lots of negative comments about the practice.

I think the key is to take the tires off after driving 100km and re torque the spacer, and then after another 100km re torque the wheel. This isn't done by most people.

That being said I've seen enough lifted gm's sitting on the side of the road missing a rear wheel to seriously consider whether I'd want them on my own vehicle.

Another option if your running aftermarket wheels would be to get a different offset for the rear to account for the lift.

My bud does this and has no issues on his 2009 duramax. He runs tires for winter and summer and checks them every tire change,.. it also helps that I loctited the spacer nuts when I installed them.

Running 2 different offset tires for front and back negates the ability to rotate your tires.

i hit post before explaining... I had Hubcentric 2" spacers on my 06f350 with 8" rize lift and 20x 12" wide rims. with 38" toyos and drove lots of hwy to and from work. I had to toque them once after install then never touched them again. Rode 2.5 years with them and never had an issue....why spacers with a 12" wide rims?.... don't ask. i was young and dumb once apon a time.
