kind of contemplating picking up an ecodiesel 1500 it would not be our tow rig as we have a dually for that and the toyhauler would be way overkill
more of a commuting, mild hauling/ towing ie 16' car hauler for day trips etc not interested in a gas job debating between a 2500 cummins or the ecodiesel and like the idea of the smaller vehicle for day to day

I made fun of my sister when she bought her eco diesel 1500 i thought, why a half ton diesel? Then she told me about the goods....pulling, fuel eco, air ride, ect. She loves it, drives it 2 hours to and from work 5 days a week and says she can get close to 1000km per tank. Her truck has almost 100,000km on it now and had no issues...i had my foot in my mouth for a bit.

Don't think you can buy them anymore didn't pass emission test.

But I think you can still gets a titan with the Cummins.

My friends dad has one. When it’s running good it gets good mileage for a truck ( 18mpg city, 26 highway) but has had lots of running issues. Multiple check engine lights, stalling at idle, refusing to start. Several trips to the dealer with emissions system problems listed as the culprit. Last trip to the dealer he was told that Fiat was working on a programming change for the engine control system because of the investigation in the states. He asked the service manager how it would affect the truck and he was told to expect a drop in mileage and reduced power.

I get that with a stock f350.

Only person I know who HAD a Eco diesel left him stranded between prophet river and pink mountain on it's 3rd tank of fuel. Don't think he has it anymore. I would go with the Titan over the Dodge, imo

Own 2 of them. 180000 km on one and 120000 km on the other. Both have been great. When I drove the one I could get 1280 km to 86 litres of diesel in the summer. Need heavier coil springs in the rear don’t bother with air bags.

Buddy has a 15 limited Eco diesel. Gets 6l/100km (35 mpg) hiway with it dropped to aero mode. Runs back and forth to the rigs, out to sicamous a lot when he's home, and pulls a 6000lb trailer. Has over 100k on it last I saw it. He loves it. I almost bought one, went with a 2500 cummins tho, cus I bought a 10k lb trailer. My wife will get one when her Yukon (pos) dies. As with any diesel they don't like city driving all the time. I have 65k on my cummins and it has never had to regen, because I have a 20 mile hiway commute each way.

They are back on sale, sales were just frozen during their emissions investigation.

Are you sure about the 6l/100km. My wife's civic only averages around 7l/100k.

curious what you don't like about the airbags, wife has them on her 1500 hemi, I think they are awesome, truck always level no matter what the load.

This pic was from summer '16, truck full of guys and bikes going to sicamous from southern Alberta.

The aero mode makes all the difference. Drops the truck super low and closes off the grille. I think only available on the limited. Not 100% tho.

That is impressive for a truck.

The heavier springs work awesome and no wiring , no air compressor running,no freezing up in the winter.
