I was just at Jack Carter GM and noticed that the little Canyons have a Duramax.

Does anyone here have any personal experience with these, or have heard anything?

I'm truck shopping this week and was intrigued by it.

Nephew has one. He had the gas one before and traded up. He likes it for the usual reasons - better torque, towing capacity and fuel economy (except when he is towing - he pulls a 26 foot bumper pull). Says it handles it well.

I wouldn't think that that could pull so much, but I guess it's worth a try.... They are priced right around a mid range 1500, and have a decent sized looking cab.
Thanks for your reply

I've been look at them on line I'm thinking it's a Isuzu diesel
And they have been around for a long time and have proven themselves. I'm going to look more into it as well...... I really don't want another diesel, but thinking that this would make good mileage.

Bought my wife a 2016 Colorado with the trail boss package. Has been a good truck once we got a few bugs out. Not the diesel but has the same engine as the V6 Camaro. Pretty sure it could haul 2 sleds with a deck. lol

My oldest brother has a 2008 Ridgeline, bought it in 2010, pulled a holiday trailer a couple of times and loves the little truck. He said he would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I'm not really towing anything anymore, so I might have to look at the smaller ones as well

Well the Canyon is still a truck. The Ridgeline is a Pilot SUV with the back chopped up. A SUV is simply a less versatile minivan with AWD.

Please say you aren't looking at that Trashy

I would consider an older Ridgeline....... Actually my wife is really looking at them too.

I just found a nice looking 2017 1/2ton, that I have to look at tomorrow

I looked seriously into getting a diesel version. In the end it was just to much money for a very small truck. When compared to the mid 50k price tag I found i could get a pretty nice 1/2 ton. The center gear selector I also didn't like and thought it made it feel more cramped.

This was on the lot last year when we bought ours. $36000 is pretty good for a diesel.

No just one. Just about bought that one though. The price will drop for their Black Friday sales event in November.

Guy at work bought the Duramax last year and spent most of the winter in the shop . They even flew out a tech to try and figure out what was going on. Since been fixed and has had no problems
