Hey guys well I did an axle flip last year as some of you may recall, I posted a few forums about it, well now I've noticed one of my tires is ate down to the wire on the inside, yet towards the outside lots of tread left, so on the passenger side the tires are awesome shape and inline, but on the other side one is out further than the other and is ate, any suggestions on how to correct the problem thanks

How was your flip done? If you just turned the axle upside down then there is your problem. If you welded on new mounts then they may be off. Most axles have a camber bend in them.

wouldn't it be all the tires if the axle flip was done wrong.
Sometimes yes but not always. You can bolt up an axle and have it still track wrong. You can use a measuring tape and check the alignment pretty easy. Just need to measure the outside point of each axle( inside of tire) to a centre point on the trailer (hitch) and compare side to side. Chances are real good there will be a substantial difference.

I was referring to the camber issues if you don't actually rotate the axle and weld on new blocks. I would think if the axle flip was done wrong then all the wheels would show wear.

Well Alright this is just one tire, what about a bent spindle?? The axles seem straight and true, I put a straight edge up to both tires and the passenger side is deadly tire to tire drivers side the front is way out of whack, and new saddles were welded on

Still all depends on if it was bolted on straight. Usually the bolt used to hold the springs together is smaller then the hole in the mount and can through alignment off if not put together right. Not saying this is the issue but it is possible. Alignment needs to be checked

Yes spring was centererd on the hole in the saddle, could this be a bent spindle since all other tires are straight and true

Trailer shop can figure out quickly for you.

Don't want to burn tires off due to alignment.

When the new saddles were welded in the axle tube could have been warped

Are you sure your bearings are good and you had proper inflation ? With these new trailer tires , under inflation can do that in a hurry if it gets hot ...

Well I did the bearings and they're are in properly, and you think the welding would have done that to all of them, and it's 1991 5th wheel, so idk I pull a boat behind it, worst come to worst just buy a tire every now an than

take it in and have it checked, maybe its something super simple they can repair for you....... beats blowing a tire, having it come apart, take out the inner fender well, and do all sorts of damage to the inside of the unit....... TRUST me on that one.

Did you check the bearing?

I don't recommend city spring for alignments. I had a new inclosed that was wearing one tire bald in about 5000 km. The other 3 were mint. After my city spring alignment. Swapped the bald tire with the spare. 2000 km later I had 4 bald tires.

City springs response was "oh I know what kinda roads you sledder guys drive you must have hit something!"

All Highway is a nice strait smooth trip buddy!

Their shatty services have also cost me a set of tires and a second alignment on my work truck with very little mileage.

You can see it if it's bent, I've bent them before especially those stupid 4" drop axles, just stand way back and look down the side of your trailer
