That derate part is interesting, and something I hadn't heard before.
The engine issues though is what makes me nervous. I had an '11 PSD, that was basically trouble free for 90000 km, aside from a leaky rad, and wrecked tranny (which was entirely my fault, and replaced under warranty no quetions asked). I've got a '15 PSD with 75,000 on it. Just replaced the rad due to the same leak. Aside from that though, it's been great.

I miss shifting gears though, and the new job gets me a decent rebate on ram- so it just had me eyein up the Rams. Sure hear lots of horror story's about them though- including with trying to get warranty.

Ram has been like that since 2001-02. The HO manual used to be higher HP and TQ than the auto.

i myself prefer the manual... no experience with the aisen so perhaps someone can chime in regaurding those however the factory clutch is junk imo
i have had an 02 6 speed, 05 6 speed, 08 6 speed (which had the new style clutch, replaced with southbend and good) and then when i bought my 12 i couldnt find a manual at the time and was swayed with the higher output rating... it is equipped with the 68
the engine braking system is much more controled in the manual as in the auto it is only functioning while the converter is locked up while on the manual you are always locked up
my other issue is while pulling (toyhauler with rzr,teryx4,quad and our gear) into some of our camping spots where there are twisty rds with up and down hills i cannot keep the tranny cool without locking into 4wd low as the converter is unlocked a fair amount being on/off the throttle
other than that my 68 has been good so far with 348000kms (flushed and filter changed every 60-70000kms) and have the h&s tranny tune
as much of a hassle it is to change the clutch over the course of the kms on my 12 I have also had the flexplate crack once and completely break on me again this past winter (running a billet one now) and have ever only ran the programmer on tow mode with the exception of the issue while running rd radios the tuner turns itself up while running ladd 3 every time the mike is keyed... lol so nothing extreme however the truck is worked more than most

hope this helps
