I'm planning on buying a newer Ram 2500/Hemi with a deck for atv/sled trips specifically. Anyone with first hand knowledge of the new rear coils and how they handle a deck, I assume air bags are required. I would only use a dozen times a year and don't do any heavy towing but do want to run a sled deck.

Have a 15 2500, 2 sleds on the deck, 2 more on the trailer, 4 guys in the truck, no airbags, and no problems. Hardly even notice it.

I have a 2014 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi Long horn with an X deck. I run just 2 sleds and you don't need airbags at all. The Actual payload cap. is around 3400lbs. I have airbags in there for my toy hauler in the summer so i put 15 PSI in them just for extra stability, but its not required.

I have a 14 2500 Mega with the CTD. With the deck on, it rides pretty well. I did throw a set of Air Lift bags and a compressor in there as I was tired of getting flashed with oncoming headlights while I had two machines on the deck. With the bags, truck rides nicer and is more stable in corners with two machines on the deck. Based on my experience I wouldn't say they are crucial, but once you have them, you sure appreciate how much better the truck works with them in.

FYI - at 5psi pressure in the bags, truck rides a slight amount rougher than without them, but not 3500 truck stiff either. Install of the bags was pretty quick...could be completed in 3 hours. Compressor is a different story. Compressor took me nearly a day to install, majority of that trying to plan where to mount and route lines to protect everything as well as I could.Ened up mounting inside of the frame rail on the drivers side under the back of the cab.

I get hi beam flashed all the time in my 15 2500 with nothing in it.
