I don't see this as being anti diesel, it is simply about reducing pollution.
As with anything else it comes as no surprise the issue has come to a head more as a result of ignorant behavior ( video speaks for itself ) than actual concerns.
The truckers Alliance is involved because as commercial vehicles they are inspected regularly and can't get away with enhancements.

Well that will nice to see. The coal rollers have done this to themselves. Im sure people sitting at lights are getting tired of getting their cars full of black smoke. It never used to bother me until some ass passed me on the highway and punched it. I could not see a thing for quite a while and he filled my car with smoke and i had my baby girl in the car with us. I had to pull over and take her out of the car until it cleared out.

What a joke. Don't get me wrong, I think that coal rollers are f*#king retarded. Most respectable people that are doing emission deletes aren't doing it to blow smoke, they're doing it for better fuel milage and towing. Leave it to governments to let the people, again, and again, know how to live their lives and what you can and cannot do.

If they want to get the coal rollers off the road, do it without affecting everyone else. Raise the fine for stunting and hit those individual DB's in the pocketbook.

I'm surprised. I thought it was already illegal to tamper with emissions controls. Whatever.....my vehicles are stock, I'm OK with it.

I agree.
The laws are already there. They just need to start being enforced.
A puff of smoke when a guy takes off from a light or shifting gears when towing a trailer is one thing and I have no problem with it.
Blacking out the sun just cuz you think it makes you and your truck look rad is another, and inappropriate IMO. A ticketable offense that needs to be enforced more often.

Ya that was a bad title. It was early and a coworker sent me this article lol.

I drive a gasser myself I was just curious because every diesel I see on kijji/cl is usually deleted.

Do you guys think this will affect the resale of deleted pickups?

I remember reading awhile back on here that cvse was checking diesel pickups exhaust at scales and whatnot. Iirc that was 2 sledding seasons ago.

Good luck enforcing such a bill. How many people speed and get away with it? Or have window tint and haven't got a ticket, or tinted taillights, hid headlights, no mudflaps etc.

A delete is probably the easiest to hide modification on a vehicle, leave the stock tip on, install a quite muffler, and don't belch smoke and no one will know.

Just another waste of taxpayer dollars on another ridiculous law.

Yep, a few bad apples really pushed this upon everyone.... Want to get rid of the DEF system? Go for it, just leave the stock tip, and a muffler on. And don't be like my neighbour, (high) idling a straight piped diesel for 25 minutes every morning at 6:15, then go pinning it rolling smoke out of the neighbourhood.

Even worse when these people have "Roll Coal" tunes that just dump fuel into it. #whiteoakleys #tapout #wifebeaters #truereligion #gof_ckyourself

It's just another revenue generator attempt from the blood sucking leaders we are currently faced with in this "free" country of ours. The theory is they can use the bad publicity from some coal rolling idiots to pass a law that will take hard earned money out of middle class pockets, they think if a guy can afford a delete he can afford a ticket or two. What an absolute fuc&ing joke, just like ABmax said, a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars. Maybe those of us that work every day and need to delete our trucks to get reasonable mileage out of the stupid things should forget to pay taxes this year, that might get some attention.

i don't think you guys that del for fuel econ are going to have a issue as long as your not pulling away from the stop light and blocking out the sun.. You give the police no reason to pull you over then you will have no worries.. Pretty sure this is more aimed at the tuners that think its funny and cool to make everything and everyone behind them black or the super loud exhaust that you can hear 6 blocks away.

Nope. Just in BC and Ontario I believe.

As it is we can now get new heavy equipment without any emissions intact. Been able to for the whole time but dealers weren't pushing it. I may have been mislead but I heard it is about a $20k savings on a 950 cat loader.

As far as pick-ups blacking out public roads... There is always going to be a*sholes. I don't think it is wise to punish everyone because of a small percentage.

I drive a 1000hp diesel daily(not in winter) and do my best too tune and drive it cleanly. That being said it's a 1000hp diesel with nothing stock... It's gonna smoke a bit until the turbos light lol.

If there is legislation passed federally then we will all be in the same situation as Ontario and California, yearly emissions tests and regular checkstops, don't kid yourself, it will not be the idiots getting punished, it will be the Average Joe and it will be costly. If we allow the leaf licking frog saving liberals to impose such legislation it will be the beginning of the end of transportation as we know it, give them an inch and they'll take a mile and a few billion dollars.

Ummmmmm......if you read the original post, this is a BC ammendment.....which leads me to believe it's not already illegal to mess with emissions equipment in BC.

The majority of our motorized recreation restrictions are the result of a small percentage of a*sholes. Why should this be any different. The enviros will always focus on the ones with a negative impact to garner public support from the uninformed masses.

Correct me if I'm wrong but IIRC the lower mainland is the only area currently in BC that does emissions testing which would catch these violations.

This bill I could see bringing it province wide. Not cool.
