come on out to BC, it is a very common practice if you deal with a shady shop. You get your inspections done at a Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star shop and inspections at the scales are rare, you go to the one offs with a shady record and you stand a good chance of being on the pad in a few days.
Now your talking out your ass bud.

There is no way a weigh scale or cvse guy knows where you had your truck inspected in the 20 seconds it takes to drive past the scale house. Nor do most of them care.

Under 1400kg a VIN is still not required which means you don't need all the receipts and whatnot. Someone at your licensing place didn't read far enough down this page. Unless the website isn't up to date or the rules are different if you are building them to sell as or through a company.

yes they don't require a vin... but they do require supporting documents for all major components or a deceleration for all major components. And im sure every insurance agent in my town and surrounding cannot be wrong.

Now your talking out your ass. Stop in at one of the newer CVSE scales, they know BEFORE you hit the pad everything they want to know. Recognition software gets the plate 1/2 mile before scales, it pops on screen, they know everything. Took a tour of the shack, was blown away by what they know. The inroad sensors already know your weight, length, height, permits, liscensed GVW and yes, it will show who does your inspections. When you do your inspection and download it onto their site, it is updated immediatly into the CVSE system.

Have you tried registering a u built trailer in bc in the last year? It's almost impossible

It's easy!

I did 3 of them last summer. Just need either receipts for parts or a notarized declaration stating how much it cost you to build it so they can get their ripoff taxes and you're good to go. The insurance agent I deal with has a notary on staff and doesn't charge for the declaration. The third one I registered wasn't even finished yet! It was still mostly a concept in my mind. They never asked to see any of them.

Wait... you buy parts, pay taxes on them as you buy. Then you register the trailer and you have to pay taxes on those bills again?

The theory is if your a manufacturer you buy parts PST exempt and claim back the GST therefor if you resale the purchaser has to pay the tax's. If you build for yourself you have the receipts to show what tax's you did pay.

Um negative ghostrider. Your ass is the only one talking here. Well, part of it is anyways....

First off CVSE is BC only. The rest of the country has their own Enforcement Agencies. So saying (or implying) that every scale can tell you everything before you get there is highly inaccurate.

Second these new scales you speak of are only in the lower mainland. (8 of them). That's only 1/3 of all the manned scales currently operating in BC. Covering a small area of the province.

Also they do not have IMMEDIATE access to inspection documentation from other provinces or states. The RCMP don't even have that. All they have is your plate and if you are operating under a permit issues from BC and at the fancy new scales the weight height etc. you mentioned. Even if you are FMC registered they don't have IMMEDIATE access to that info.

And if you think that those new high traffic scales have the time to waste to look and see if your shop of choice is a sketchy one your dillusional. As if a scale in the lower mainland is going to know that jimmy's hd truck repair in hudson hope bc or b'yes leaky boat and truck repair in newfoundland is credible or not in 30 seconds nor will they pull you in just because. It's not your fault your local guy may not be the most thorough. And If said shop are possibly suspected to be lax in it's inspection practices, the cvse or other enforcement agency in other provinces will quickly do an audit and suspend their inspection facility license immediately. This I know from experience.

Pretty sure they do have access to your inspection docs. They are tied to your plates and are uploaded before you walk out the shop door.

As of now if you want to sell a deleted commercial truck at Ritchie Bros sales it has to be listed as off road use only. If you do not declare to Ritchies (and they ask and document when listing truck) that the truck is deleted and they sell it, they can and will come back at you for all costs getting the truck back to factory original. They have been burned a few times with customers buying a truck out of country, buyer finding out they were deleted and Ritchies on the hook for bringing back to factory spec. They now specifically list if unit has factory emissions.

If you take a truck to Peterbilt in BC that is deleted and want to trade it off it must be put back to original before they will accept it on trade. Things are getting much stickier.

Unless this is something Ritchie's did in the last few months it's BS, which I am guessing it is. Not like it matters if it's listed as off road use anyway. Shops don't care about emissions because the cvip's in Alberta anyway are not based on emissions, no liability for them. I asked my dealer and they said they don't care if it's deleted, they will pass it.

You are wrong on pretty much every point, not sure where your getting your information but I really do suspect it is out of your ass.

Look at the map I have provided, take a look at the facitites. I live in the interior of BC, there are 3 stations within 75 miles of my home with all the access I have explained to you. I am in the industry, I deal with them every day that I work, I know most of the local officers by their first names, I have had the shack tours and have seen first hand what they have available to them. Would you like their cell phone numbers to verify? I have few of those as well which I will send you in a private messages so you can call direct, or maybe take the step to call the phone numbers listed in the link provided.

Everything I have stated if factual, proven by links and first hand experience, everything you have stated is based on assumption. As you have stated you DO inspections, but do you deal with the CVSE first hand? Have you EVER been in a shack to see their available tools? I doubt it. Did you bother to read the link I provided? If you actually live in BC as you claim you might realize that Hope, Kamloops, Golden, Quesnel, Prince George and Vanderhoof are not in the lowermainland and cover a high percentage of the traffic moving outside of the lowermainland.

Everything I have posted is with regards to CVSE and I have STATED that in every post. You want to bring up what happens in Newfoundland? Thats a cop out on your part, just like you have no idea what is happening with CVSE based on your ass talking responces, I have no idea what happens in Newfoundland and never have claimed to. You on the otherhand are coming off as a loud mouthed idiot who doesnt have a clue what they are talking about but thinks they are an expert on everything because they may have gotten grease under their fingernails once in their lives.

You claim you do inspections, I am glad you dont do mine. Its my life on the line when I am out there, knowing there are jerk offs like you around who make their own rules when doing inspections does not make me feel any better about the oncoming vehicles that I am meeting.

Once again as I have stated the information I have is based out of BC. The new regulations which are being discussed in this thread are based out of BC. What effect that has with regards to Alberta I have no idea. But come on out here, you will find everything I have stated is factual.

As for Ritchies, go on their website, their is a sale in Edmonton on the 25th of may, click on any transport truck, the first thing they list on the engine section is EPA and either true or false.

And I still stand by my statement which is still 100% correct : THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING A VEHICLE WASN'T EQUIPPED WITH THE FACTORY EMISSIONS EQUIPMENT AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION UNLESS CVSE CAME INTO THE SHOP IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT WAS DONE AND CHECKED! PERIOD!!!

Alot can happen to a truck in 12hrs.......
