I just had a set of skyjacker hydro 7000 put on my 2010 2500 dmax and they seem really springy. My old wore out shocks were smoother. Anyone have any experience with them? I've only put 200km on them and I'm now looking at a set of bilstiens.

Have not heard much about skyjacker but a lot of people run them. Bilstein are a stiff shock for sure. I went with rancho 9000xl that are adjustable and I keep the fronts at setting 7 and the back at 3.

So the skyjackers suck!! They are way to light for my truck. My old wore out shocks were stiffer and it rode way better. They are coming off tomorrow and some rancho rs 5000 are going on. These better work! I wish I would just went to the rs9000 adjustable ones right off the bat.

Are you going 5000 or 9000? The 5000 will be too light also IMO. I am pretty sure that is what came on my new Z71. Are not too bad for a daily driver but too light for towing.

I went with the 5000. They are just putting in the fronts so I will know how they are in about 30mins.

With the duramax I found when towing the front end bounces more then it should. Once you get them and try them report back

Update: even though the Rancho's are better than the skyjackers, they still flat out suck!!!! On choppy bumps around lloydminster my truck still hops like crazy. My buddies half ton is stiffer than my 2500. The tire shop gave me a set of monroe reflex to try and if these don't work i'm gonna snap!! I think the skyjacker 7000 and rancho 5000's would be good on a half ton but for sure not a 2500

I would suggest going to Blistein 5100 for cheap shocks. They get better but also more costly. I had them on my 2010 cummins 3500 with carli springs. Truck did well.

Currently running bilstein 5100 on my 08 duramax. Big step up from the pro comp shocks that were on it. I'm almost at 2 years with them on and feel slightly softer.. at least I think so anyways haha

So I ditched the ranchos and got some good old Monroe reflex and now my truck rides and handles better than ever. I'm very happy with them.

And the reflex has lifetime warranty ;)

So do the Rancho 9000's. They ride softer than my Dads 90's Caddy when set full soft, and handled the roughest road I've ever been on loaded heavier than most here will ever go without a hiccup at full stiff. They aren't the absolute best quality out there, but for the price they are amazing, and the support is everywhere if there are any issues.

So I just traded my 10 2500 off on a 13 3500 duramax with a 4" lift and rancho RS9000xl shocks. I've had the truck for 4 days and I just put the adjustable shocks to setting 1......wow! Unbelievable how smooth it rides for a 1 ton. Anyone looking to upgrade there shocks rancho 9000 adjustable shocks are awesome!!!!!

I was looking at the 9000's yesterday. Would be good for dual duty as a daily driver and towing heavy

That is what I run on my superduty. Keep the front at 7 and back at 3. Tried 4 and 5 up front but seemed a little soft could not imagine setting 1 as that's a lot of weight up front. Mine are almost 4 years old and still great except the little red dials are seized in the back ones.

If you have money to burn, get some KING shocks. Best around.
