So I got a set of tire chains for a 35/12.5R20. I just tried them on my truck which has 35/11.5R20 tires. So an inch narrower. They are cam lock style. I put 1 on, drive 100 feet and checked it. They are not super tight. It's possible I could unlock a cam lock by hand. I have the chain plyer tool I'm just not sure how to go about shortening the chain. They are a titan v-bar chain. Thanks

depending how loose may need to remove a cross chain then just hook the edges up a link tighter to take the slack
