Going to be doing efilive on my '14 ram and have been trying to figure out who to use for tunes. Would like to keep it localish. 2 I'm leaning towards are CCS and Armor Inc. Anyone have any experience with these guys or know of another good outfit? Not looking for a bunch of power, just some good clean tuning with trans tuning

Both are good choices but I would go with Armor. I don't personally have tunes with them but they consult a lot with the guy in the states that has done my tunes, his name is Les he is well known on the cummins forum. They specifically work with Les for their race trucks mostly but I have heard that they do use and consult with Les for tunes on daily driver trucks. I have been extremely happy with Les tunes so I would expect the same from Armor based on there relationship. Cant comment on the trans tunes though because I got my trans done by draconian diesel in texas because my truck is an 08 with a separate transmission control module I am able to get efi and trans tunes from different guys but yours being a 14 you have to get engine and trans done by the same guy because they are one module unit.

My brother has CCS efi and trans tunes on his 2010 Ram and you certainly cant complain with his customer service. He has been there day and night for any issues my brother has had. He still is working with Mitch trying to get the tunes to where they should be (in comparison to the tunes on my truck). A lot of the tunes have had flat spots in the power band and some inconsistency in performance. Also my brother doesn't seem to quite get the same fuel economy as my truck. He is on his 5th tune that Mitch has sent and still isn't quite there yet but is darn good in comparison to a lot of other tunes.

In talking with Armor today and with what you're saying I'm leaning towards them. I heard a couple more reviews today about CCS and they sound pretty good but not quite in the same league which goes along with what you're saying. Also Armor said they're in GP every couple weeks which is nice to have the tuner right there. Who does Les work with? I'm fairly active on that forum as well. Thanks for the info

Yeah I have hear nothing but good things about Phil at Armor. They seem to really know their stuff as their race trucks and tractor pull trucks really work. I am not saying CCS is bad by any means but it may take some work and back and forth before you are happy and Mitch is really good with working with you until the tunes are just how you want it.

I believe Les calls his company Silver Bullet Tuning but don't quote me on that. I am not an active member on the Cummins forum so I don't know a lot about Les, but I do know his tunes are good as I love how my truck drives haha. My brother is a member on the Cummins forum and is the one that got Les tunes for me, so all the info I have about him is relayed to me through my brother. The only reason I don't talk to Les directly is because he did tuning for my brother on his old 06 so they had a bit of a relationship developed already and allowed me to get a bit of a deal on his tunes. When my brother got his 2010 and wanted to switch to EFI he wanted to get Les tunes but at the time he didn't do delete tunes and trans tuning which is why he went with CCS. But if he could go back he would have waited for tunes from Les or would have gone with Armor.

Not local but I've got 30k deleted and tuned on my 2015. Drove it new off the lot and straight to the garage for tuning. HPP EFI Live (higher power performance) is who I went with and ZERO regrets.

Hardway performance does really good tunes...

If you don't go with efi, RaceMe has pretty good out of the box tunes and also it doesnt need to the bullydog to unlock either so it's a couple bucks less

EFI Live tuners have been able to tune 2010+ Rams without using the bully dog to unlock for over a year now. So depending on who he chooses and the setup he runs it probably wouldn't be any cheaper.

2013+ still needs the bullydog unlock. I've heard great things about Hardway and PPEI but I'm trying to keep it local. Likely going with Armor as of now

coopers all the way. Mitch is top notch with top notch service and his trucks flat out work! Armor is awesome nows there stuff but mitch is just in the tuning game and with a dyno now to really play with and tweak tunes it would be the way I would go! get Mitch to live tune it on the dyno you will be much happier and get exactly what you want.

I ended up going with Anarchy. Nothing against Armor and CCS. They're customer service was great when I talked with them both. I wanted really good trans tuning and Anarchy seemed to have what I wanted nailed down so I went with them. Service from them was also top notch.

Hey pinko, just curious how you are liking Anarchy tunes and service? I got a new to me truck that I want to delete and wouldn't mind hearing about your experience before I pull the trigger with someone else. I would like to just go with Les at Silver Bullet again, but I don't know what his trans tuning is like at all and thinking I want to go with someone more local for service and convenience and to save on the horrible exchange rate.

I wouldn't recommend anarchy to anyone after my experience with them. My truck never ran right with their tunes. Had massive surging under even the slightest load. They blamed my truck up and down. No way was it their tuning. Talked with the guys at No Limit here in GP and they immediately said it sounds like tuning. Switched over to Bullydog tunes since I had one lying around and issues went away. Loaded anarchy back up and surging again. Also their trans tuning is terrible imo. They extend shift points soo high the truck is always super jerky. Cool if you race your truck around everywhere but impractical. Had to manually shift running back roads going sledding as the tranny didn't ever seem to know where to be. Got fed up dealing with them, Phil mostly who turned out to be a massive pile as well. Got tunes from No Limit and never looked back. Truck has never run as good as it does now. Sorry for the lengthy post but the thought of dealing with anarchy again makes my blood boil

Good to know! No worries for the rant I appreciate any info you have so now I know what not to do. Sucks to hear you went through that whole mess though. You aren't referring to Phil at amour are you? Or is it a different Phil? Also where is no limit located? What kind of prices did they charge if you don't mind me asking?

No sorry Phil at anarchy.
No Limit is up here in GP. I've had a bunch of work done by them. Awesome bunch of guys there. It'd be best to call them and ask what they're charging. They cut me a deal after all the hassle I'd been through with anarchy
