Hey,
I was wondering if anyone has sold a vehicle in the states and what would be involved? Or is there any companies that will sell for you?
I found out that my make and model of truck is pretty popular with dealerships to trade in and sell in the states for a premium, plus our fantastically strong dollar should come out a little better.
Thanks in advance

about 6 years ago I sold my truck to a colleague of mine in Oregon. It was easy especially since I drove it down. Crossed the border as usual then we went to dept of motor vehicles got the bill of sale and had my copy of registration and was smooth sailing after that. He had to do a title search as well.

I'm not sure if it's the same for private sales but like others said the states see buying up all our used vehicles due to the dollar. I don't know what kind of prices they're paying for them though.

We sold a bunch of stuff for an estate. Pricing was very low. Just to give you an idea, I have a camper the is worth approx 15,000 here going buy kijiji. So we thought we should easily be able to get $8000 there. Nope. Had lots of interest at $3000. Sold a few vehicles too. Basically gave them away.

I have friends that do it for a side gig... Instant 10-15% return on money. The issue is making sure your vehicle doesn't fall into that stupid air bag recall with no resolution!

There are a ton of trucks going south right now... Call red deer motors if one above doesn't work out.

Sold my 2012 dodge to 2 guys who are exporting diesels to USA, Spokane
They said they can't find enough diesels...they didn't even drive my truck! They were writing the cheque while I was still trying to sell it to them..lol I had it listed for 3 days they gave me $2500 less then my asking price which I had some wiggle room factored in so it was close enough as they didn't take the summer 35" toyos with fuel rims which I flogged yesterday so include that sale and I actually came out higher than my original goal price.
So must be some $$ to be made exporting, just has to be in the right market.

I used to haul vehicles to and from the U.S. depending on the dollar, right now it's very profitable to sell to the states. You can do it the easy way and sell it to a vehicle broker(in Canada) that will handle all the cross border paperwork or if you want to make a little more sell it direct to a dealer. In most cases a broker is going to ship it to an auction in the states and he will still make money selling it at wholesale just by exchanging the money. Make some calls yourself to dealers in the states(the further away from the border the better) and sell it direct to them, let them handle the import and broker fees and sell it in US dollars. They will also take care of the trucking. For premium units dealers love this because they don't have to compete with other dealers at the auction.

Curious if they import deleted diesel or if they need to have emissions gear intact?
