10 ply winter tires for half ton?

Are you sure you want Nokian? You would probably be better off with another brand. Nokians wear really fast, the studs fall out, and they arent even that great at gripping. The wifes Suv is getting blizzaks later this week.

Very similar tires, however the newer ko2 are studless.... That said, the ko2 are extremely well rated on snow and ice, right up there with ice tires, and the at2 just a small step behind. The at2 can be studded. I have several fleets we service that run either tire, solely because you don't have to change to winter tires. Most all weather tires don't have very good longevity, for example some of the European "all weather" tire, which are just a glorified winter tire, and are softer and as a result wear quicker than all season. I like both the ko2 and at2, and both get very good mileage durability, with the edge to the newer ko2. Can't get the at2 in the size for my dodge 1500 with 20" wheels, so I'll be going with the ko2.

friend of mine ran "hercules" and I couldn't believe how well they worked for an off brand tire. Work so well that Id venture to run them over a blizzack.

I ran studded hakkapeliitta 5s on a half ton and was disappointed for the investment.

Had a set of Hercules all terrain tires on the last suv. Great tires but they changed the tread design. Not sure how the new ones work

I had the chance to try every winter tire (studded and non) on company trucks over the years (well, maybe not EVERY, but many)....I run studded Winterforce on my 1/2 ton. Awesome tires. (I run P tires and have never had an issue...I run a small 2 place sled trailer)

I sell a TON of Hercules tires (all season, all terrain, and winter). They're a much more "economical" tire, but they go the distance. And their winter snow tires have been absolutely awesome. My entire staff runs them, as does my family and friends, and many of my customers. They're definitely my go to tire. Just put four of their trailer tires on my enclosed 4 place. Will see how they pan out.

The tire shop I ran I installed a lot of Hercules winters, studded on sled trailers

Guess it's the cats azz, put on xl ones that had close to the same rating as the trailer tires

Trailer stayed planted and stops way better

I agree... We sell lots of hercules tires as well.... Economical entry level tire, but does seem to go the distance in most cases.... Have had a few, not last like they should, but for the most part they are decent. I like their winter tires too.

I had one buddy try it first , said will never again pull his sled trailer without

He even said backing it up on ice-snow, before it would slide the Way u didn't want it to go

With winters it went where u wanted it 95% of the time

Makes sense, so I started selling a crap ton of them, and never had one guy that said it wasn't better

Only thing is if u use ur trailer a hole bunch summer, they will melt down like the wicked witch of the West

for your truck i would run the Toyo GSI5's
i bought those and they are amazing but pricy
i used to haul my enclose with fully loaded weighed around the 4000lbs mark and the tires were great.

I run studded Hercules winters. Awesome tire! Buddy put on the new tread design Hercules At's this summer , after getting a few years out of the old tread design Hercules AT. They were quieter on the highway and did very well through the crud around the Crowsnest.

I’ve been running Nitto Exo Grapplers on my half ton for years. Amazing tire 10ply and come pre studded. If you’re running a sled deck 10 ply is the only way to go
