Hey guys, i had a tree jump out in front of me today and now I need to replace my throttle cable on a 2014 xm on the backside of the mtn tomorrow. Just wondering if I Can reach the end once hood and everything is off or does the main airbox against the full tank need to be removed too? Or any other advise or tricks to know in advance?

Take the hood off and slide the plenum part of the airbox out past the secondary. There is a little tab holding it in place. Will give you plenty of room, you might have to take the boots off the end of the throttle bodies though to get the end of the throttle cable out, it can be a biotch to get in there with fat fingers.

I changed mine out last year . Remove the hood and the airbox so you can get in there . Its 10 seconds to remove the air box . and 6-8 screws for hood . Easy

Just had to replace mine yesterday. You don’t need to take the hood off, just take out the air box and the rubber boots and you’ll be done in no time!
