So I am possibly looking at picking up a used xm, there is some smokin deals on used obviously so what exactly are the differences between the 4 model years? I am sure there is small evolutionary changes but is it really a huge deal?

Prefer a 163x a 2012 or 2013 I'm thinking I can get one for around 10-11k with low mileage. T motion and narrow front end were standard when? Obviously warranty is a factor as well. Have not priced out a new one yet but what are 163x with a 2.5" track OTD in alberta going for these days.

Thanks for your comments.

Id say look for a good 13, lots of improvements over the 12. T-motion, flex edge track, better seat, better running boards, new spindles, new plastics ext

dont bother with a 2012. just go for a 13-14xm they are virtually identical. there was some minor changes from 13-14. ive had both and my 14 does feel ever so slightly more powerful as they did some fuel mapping changes. oh and the hand warmers work way better but other than that the 13-14 are the same.

PS. i have a 13 and a 14 for sale in classifieds. try them both! lol

The improvement of the hand warmers was a big deal for me.
I always wear thin tight gloves and like the heat.
Don;t think you can go wrong having a look at Maxwells 2014 sled.
Stay in the 14 models and have some longer warranty.

I went through the same ordeal. Started off wanting a 2009/2010. Then I did my research. Long story short, get a 2013. As mentioned it's the first year of the XM. Big difference over the 2012. Not alot of change in 2014. Good deals on none current new in Saskatoon. I ended up with a 2013 154 non. X with 700 miles for 10,750. Just needed a new snow flap. Watch as their are some dreamers out there hoping for 13k for a 2014. If your going 13k add 500 and it brand new out the door

Lol do your research bud. A 2014 x model is worth 13k. Your 11,000$ 2 year old machine is an sp model which is cheaper than the x and does not have the warranty that the snow checked used 2014s for sale have.

For an SP you could have been on a brand new sled.

Oh I did my research. 2 grand for a years warranty on a proven E Tec? No Thanks. I will pay what I paid and take my chances. It's also in how the used sled was maintained. If you get a super fussy guy selling, even better. All I am saying is why pay 13k for used when you can get a brand new unit all in for 500 bucks more
If you get 13k for your used unit, send him my way. I have a good deal on some land in Florida 😆
