2007 Rev 800 with lots of miles.
Can't get over 7500 RPM so I thought the first place to start might be dirty RAVES or torn billow.
Here is what I found???

Seems a little unusual to me?

I'm thinking this may be the cause of my low RPM's????

So here is the questions:
Will this cause internal damage?
What could possibly cause this?

From what I can see in your pictures they are extremely dirty and carboned up SBR. They may be sticking and not opening properly. Clean them up to new, install new gaskets and pin' er. What kind of oil are you using?

I'm now using Doo synthetic oil.
One rave snapped off bits a multi price rave now.

Also there is a updated rave guillotine.

That looks like the old ones that fall into piston.

Check Ur pistons out.

yes you have a problem.

yes that would be a good reason you can not pull peak rpm as the rave is not being pulled open properly.

As Tex mentioned, I would be curious where the broken piece is.

It's not the oil.

Bad manufacture of the gillotines themself.

Lots of 07 motors got messed up cause the valve falls to the piston.

The valves looked like Tar and had been cleaned not that long ago. Oil may have contributed.
Doo tells me they were the updated valves
I agree though, no reason for one to fail so I would lean toward mfging.
But I'm back in business for a great weekend of local riding.
