AvCan’s Executive Director Gilles Valade is involved in a fundraising activity for the Avalanche Canada Foundation this Saturday in Vancouver, and he’s going to give all the money he raises to the Al Hodgson Fund.
For those who may not know Al Hodgson donated much of his adult life to snowmobiling and working for the cause to improve snowmobiling for everyone. He was a mentor and a very good friend to many of us.
Al passed away recently and in his memory, the Avalanche Canada Foundation created a memorial fund to help train snowmobilers in avalanche safety.
This fund has previously been used by members of our community to receive assistance in their training although, currently, there isn’t enough money in this fund to give grants for snowmobiler training as it has been tapped.
Now is your chance to make a difference.
