Need some help, any ideas

which cooler, check cylinders for scuffing, if they arent to bad you should be able to hone, if real bad you will need to renikasil. if you need to renikasil i would think about an 860 kit.

??? 08 sled worth ~$7500 and they wrote it off for a $3000 motor??

Doesn't make sense at all.

If he overheated and seized the motor then you can expect a full rebuild, you can have scorched seals in the bottom end, you need to fully rebuild the whole motor from the ground up because the water pump could be trashed and the seals in there might be fawked. Also make sure everything is within spec and no parts or peices got down into the crank.
