buddy hit a tree at the end of last season. nothing too crazy. doesnt look like they can handle a hit in the a arm department:

as it sat yesterday:

considering only the top a arm had some damage and the bottom didnt....it did not fare to well at all. hell, i have seen a arms ripped clean off and not crack, tear or bend the bulkhead like in those pics.

heck our group alone go thru plenty of a arms...right krash?? LOL

takes a few sets of a arms and far bigger hits before serious damage to bulk heads.....so we have seen....

another thing to check on...he had some serious bar slop. i took out the plastic coupler on the steering post and ground about an 1/8th of an inch off one side. i did this on teh 09 a couple years ago too. huge diff. half the play now. you still have the tele play...but its far better after this mod.

That's no good. I guess maybe he hit it just right? I hit a stump at 30k and sent me over the bars with a minor tweak and many trees/rocks hit lol. Maybe I should take a look at my bulkhead too

now before guys get all upset...im not saying the new cats are junk. hell, all sleds are ch!t..lol. im just lettin peeps know that there is a weak spot where the a arms mount and to check it if you hit something that results in a bent a arm. he did not hit this tree very hard. pipe is dented because it is right tight to the plastic near the a arm. only one a arm is bent. trust me, many on our group have hit stuff WAY harder as pics prove...with no bulkhead damage. it takes many hits on the ol m before your doing a bulkhead.

just check out the pics. i am just tryin to help out fellow sledders. if you catch the tear while its small...its an easy fix. little weld and a plate...all good!
