Loading Truck Camper

Im in the process of loading a truck camper onto my 06 Dodge Mega Cab. I'm not to sure what clearance I should have between the roof and the overhang. I will be travelling down some gravel roads, maybe a little off-road, but mostly pavement. I really don't need a flat roof. Any comments would be great.

Depends on the age of the camper. newer trucks have deeper boxes and thus you may have to add some 2x8 planks to give you the clearance just on the side rails. as to the clearance above your roof i would say at least a couple of inches.
