Hi,

Just got an 07 Prowler 650XT for the family and wondered how important it is to the performance of it with respect to jetting for altitude. Using it primarily in the mountains around Calgary, AB.

Determining what the altitude range of the current jets are good for is a start,.. then factor in current air/fuel/exhaust mods.

I purchased an AEM wideband air/fuel gauge so I could monitor my ratio, takes the guess work out of reading a plug, or trying to dial in by plug color.

I rode mine evrywhere without jetting it and didnt notice much of a differance untill I was over 5000 ft and it ran pretty good untill just over 7000 and then it was jet time.
Hopr this helps!

Is that an inline monitor that can adjust the fuel?

No, it monitors the fuel ratio in the exhaust pipe. You install it and adjust your jets manually either rich/lean according to what the readout tells you.

Very helpful when adding an intake/snorkel, swapping out exhaust, or changing a cam or going to a bigger bore and piston.
