Hitch receiver box extender

Thinking of getting rid of my marathon deck for one of those extensions that hook up to your receiver to support the track. I don't really need the deck for one sled, and its a PITA to remove and replace twice a year. I am wondering though, are those bed extenders legal in BC for hauling a sled? I would wire it for a marker light.

Must be lit if extends more than 4 foot from existing tailights of driven at night, flagged for daylight use, also must be removed if not in use with a sled or an over zealous enforcement officer may ticket you as well.
