Help with RX1 skid conversion ideas

I have an 03 S/C RX1 with MPI Cromemoly skid parts extended to 162X16. The front is stock A-arms with Works shocks and Simon's Gen 2 powders skis. The sway bar is long gone and I have lightened up everything that can be taken off. The sled is a beast to turn at slow speeds and a handful on the ride in or out. I don't have a lot of fun money this year and am looking for improvements in skid or front suspension that won't break the bank. Has anyone swapped out take offs from another sled that was a significant improvement? Will a nitro skid work? I have seen some post that an AC skid can be make to work, anyone with first hand experience?

My sled has been gas and go but I would really like to update the handing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

a bit late but,

buddy put a 09 nitro skid in his rx1.
he just found its happy place, drilled the holes and she bolted strait in.
he welded a cherry bomb on to the pipes where 2 comes into one. then cut down the seat and saved a good 30lb.
the exhaust sounds phat and the sled has far more power and climbs like never before.
a little fabrication and the sled shed about 70lb
